Janina Simone Kulcsar
Diplom-Designer · Consultant for Neurodiversity and Creative Processes
For more than 15 years, I have been combining art, didactics, and neurodiversity expertise – today mainly in strategic consulting for universities and educational institutions that want to further develop their programs in a neurodiversity-informed way.
My work is based on a simple belief: neurodiversity is not a disorder but a resource that can be fostered structurally. As a neurodivergent person myself, I know the blind spots of traditional educational structures – and I support institutions in reimagining learning and working environments: inclusive, resource-oriented, and effective.

Empowering students: Neuro-didactic modules for resilience and autonomy
I design and facilitate semester-long courses, intensive workshops, and curricular modules that enable universities to specifically support neurodivergent students (ADHD, autism, giftedness, dyslexia).
The focus is on artistic and didactic methods that strengthen self-organisation, resilience, and creative authenticity – and can be integrated flexibly into existing study programs.
Current situation in art and design degree programs
In university consulting practice, the following pattern appears again and again:
A disproportionately high number of neurodivergent students (e.g. ADHD, autism, “twice-exceptional” profiles) enrol in art and design programs.
High creative performance collides with massive executive challenges in planning, structuring, and implementing projects.
Projects are discontinued, prolonged, or blocked – not because of a lack of subject expertise, but due to overload of the executive functions.
Lecturers and psychosocial counselling services are working at full capacity and can only offer limited process support.
This is where my work as an external consultant and process facilitator comes in.
External process facilitation & coaching
I work as an external “executive backup” for your department, complementing existing study, project, and examination counselling services.
To do this, I offer a combination of individual process support (coaching for students) and structural input for departments – always tailored to your existing provision.
Goals of the support
• Translating complex artistic projects into realistic, manageable steps.
• Developing individual structuring and planning systems that fit each student’s neurodivergent profile.
• Supporting task initiation, prioritisation, and perseverance – especially during project-heavy phases.
• Stabilising project and final phases through continuous, process-oriented support.
Target group
• Neurodivergent students in art, design, media, and related creative fields.
• Students in project, practice, and final phases who have an increased need for structure and support.
• Departments that want to proactively reduce dropouts, extensions, and overload, and to further develop their programs in a neurodiversity-informed way.
Formats (selection)
• One-to-one process support and coaching for students.
• Support packages for project and final theses (time-limited, structured coaching formats).
• Studio audit and on-site kick-off to analyse working environment and project architecture.
• Interactive workshops and small-group formats on executive strategies in creative work.

Value added for your university
Leveraging neurodiversity strategically instead of merely managing it
• Reducing the workload of lecturers as well as study and counselling services by outsourcing specialised process support.
• Increasing completion and project success rates among neurodivergent students through targeted executive-function support.
• Closing the gap between psychosocial counselling and academic teaching with a clearly defined, non-therapeutic coaching offer.
• Enhancing and further developing existing structures in a neurodiversity-informed way, in terms of inclusion, quality assurance, and profile building.
